The Fall of Desaix, a large and stunning original screenprint, from 1997.

A 10 colour screenprint on Velin Arches 300 gsm paper.

Signed and dated in pencil, numbered from the edition of 50 (number shown is an example).  Jammet’s talent for capturing movement and muscle tone in the horses is showcased in this wonderful work.  Inspired by the death of France’s General Desaix, a trusted aide of Napoleon, who was shot through the heart whilst leading his men on a counter attack at the battle of Marengo.

Printed in 1997 at Gresham studios, blindstamp lower right, on Somerset wove paper.
