From Inchnadamph
Norman Ackroyd RA, CBE 1938-2024Etching called “From Inchnadamph” (gaelic which translates as water meadow of the stag) from a 1991 series of works called Summer Isles, a very small edition of just 40 copies, this one numbered 17/40, signed in pencil and dated 91
The Summer Isles portfolio was printed at Penny press in 1991, depicting different landscapes of Sutherland and Wester Ros, Scotland. I have others from the set available separately. The set was printed on acid free 250 gsm paper.
A paradise for geologists, Inchnadamph is a small hamlet in Sutherland, Scotland. The scene captured by Ackroyd shows the ruins of Ardvreck Castle on the shores of Loch Assynt which seagulls hovering above.
