Recognised as one of Britain’s finest printmakers and master of the etching process, Norman Ackroyd studied at Leeds College of Art followed by the Royal College of Art under Julian Trevelyan. He was elected Royal Academician in 1988 and Senior Fellow in 2000. His work is widely collected in the UK and overseas. He died in September 2024 following a long illness and was working and exhibiting right up until the end.
