Gerd Winner (b1936)The complete portfolio of 26 pages including 6 double page-spread pencil signed photosilkscreen prints published and printed by Kelpra Studios in 1978 on 260 gsm Velin Arches paper.
Winner’s photorealist screenprints of urban scenes were seen as groundbreaking and iconic and this complete collection of East One, based on the 1970s London landscape, is a rare find.
The folder consists of 9 unbound/ loose folded sheets printed to both sides including 3 title / information sheets and 6 pencil signed screenprints on a double page spread. These signed screenprints are also printed with further images on the other side. The works are presented in a black embossed solander album / folder with solander sleeve.
The work is personally dedicated from the artist to Phil & Electra May (Phil May being the late lead singer of The Pretty Things) on the title page where it is also numbered from the edition of 50.
Each sheet measures 50 x 70 cm opened up. To summarise, there are 6 pencil signed screenprints which could be framed and displayed, as well as a further 3 single sided / unsigned screenprints on the back of the title / index pages and alternative images on the reverse of the signed screenprints. The photos shown are 1/main) a group shot of all 6 double page screenprints, 2-7) show each individual signed screenprint, either signed to the bottom left or bottom right corner, 8) an example of one of the signatures, 9-12) show a sample of some of the other pages including the dedication and edition number.
