Gerd Winner (b1936)
Winner is a German artist known for his photorealist screenprints of buildings, roads and other urban scenes. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin and in 1970 won a scholarship from the British Arts Council to come to London. Shortly after, his partnership with Chris Prater of Kelpra Studios began, and their collaboration has produced many of Winner’s finest works. He has works in the TATE and the Museum of Modern Art New York.
