Sir Peter Blake CBE, RA (b1932)

Sir Peter Blake CBE, RA is one of the best known British pop artists, who trained at the Gravesend School of Art followed by the Royal College of Art. Perhaps best known for co-creating the album design for The Beatles Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, he is now in his 80s and still producing new limited edition prints.

In the 1970s he made a set of paintings to illustrate Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking-Glass, and founded the Brotherhood of Ruralists. He became a Royal Academician in 1981 and a CBE in 1983, and was knighted in 2002 for his services to art.
