Ian Tyson (b1933)
Well known British abstract printmaker. Studied at the Birkenhead School of Art and the Royal Academy of Art. His works are represented in many public and private collections worldwide, including the TATE. He founded Tetrad Press in 1969, and many artists used its services in an era of change in printmaking. He taught drawing and printmaking at the Farnham School of Art (1959-1966), the St. Martin’s School of Art (1964-1984) and the Wimbledon School of Art. He was a visiting professor at the Royal College of Art , the University of Wisconsin, Madison and the University of California, San Diego, and a Brinkley Fellow at the Norwich School of Art. He has had over fourteen solo and thirty group exhibitions throughout Europe.
