Donald Hamilton-Fraser RA (1929-2009)
Donald Hamilton Fraser was an accomplished and widely collected painter and printmaker, known for his bold colours and semi abstract style. Known for his landscapes and portrait studies of ballerinas. He studied painting at St. Martin’s School of Art alongside Joe Tilson, Sandra Blow, and Frank Auerbach. He was awarded a French Government Scholarship to live and work in Paris. He was visiting tutor at the Royal College of Art for twenty-five years , counting David hockney, Patrick Caulfield and Ron Kitaj among his students. He was a Royal Academician and has exhibited there since 1975.
