White Square i

Richard Allen (1933-99)

A rare silkscreen by the late Richard Allen, who early in his career exhibited alongside Bridget Riley and Peter Sedgley.  His works are seemingly very hard to come by.

A stunning geometric composition in four colours referenced on the artist’s estate website.  An edition of just 35, signed and numbered 30/35 in pencil lower left and dated 90.

It is titled in pencil on the back White Square i.

The paper is a good quality thick paper.

Allen has works in the Tate, The Government Art Collection, the British Council, the Arts Council of Great Britain among others.

Measurements: 56 x 56 cm

Condition: The work does not appear to have previously been framed and is in excellent condition, on the back you can see a small soft crease to the lower corner but this has not affected any ink on the front.
