Welsh Girl

Barry Flanagan OBE, RA (1941-2009)

Linocut in colour on cream Velin d’arches paper, signed in pencil, dated 83 and denoted AP 4/6, an artists proof aside from the edition of 32.  Waddington Graphics blindstamp.

Vermillion ink with strong relief lines.

Printed by Colin Dyer and published by Waddington Graphics. In conversation with the compiler Colin Dyer suggested that the title of this print did not reflect the nationality of the model (she was not Welsh) but the fact that the artist was working at the time with a Welsh cob horse as a model for his sculpture.
