Untitled Illuminated LandscapePatrick Procktor RA (1936-2003)
A very unusual etching, at a distance looks all black but in fact is a very clever illuminated night view through windows out onto a garden landscape in tones of black and dark green, with touches of colour. I cannot find it anywhere online. It is signed in pencil and from a very small edition of 60, numbered 38/60.
One of the artists early works as it is stamped with the editions Alecto stamp verso and a reference number 758. There are also two black symbol stamps, I wondered if these referred to a series, perhaps an Asian series that the artist did.
Measurements: 62 x 43 cm image size
Condition: Unframed on paper with full margins. Overall very good condition there is a small mark to the upper right margin and a small corner tip crease, away from the print, some light time toning from age right on the edges, and along the bottom right of the plate some cracking of the black ink where it has overlapped the 'ridge' of the plate. the image itself is in excellent condition.
