It’s a very typical Richard Beer townscape which focuses the eye on the exquisite detail of the baroque architecture, the figures, although not really required, add atmosphere and quirkyness to the scene. The famous Cafe Vefour is visible under the arches.
Beer spent many holidays travelling through southern Europe where he sketched, drew and painted landscapes, architecture and street scenes as inspiration for his etchings and paintings which he would complete on his return to his Primrose hill home and studio.
Measurements: 40 x 60cm plate size
Condition: Condition is unframed, clean, and with some traces of authentic ink marks as shown on the photos. Beer printed his etchings himself.
