Orchard Tambourine C No.2

Sir Terry Frost RA (1915-2003)

One original limited edition woodblock from the 2002 Orchard Tambourine C series by Terry Frost (Catalogue Raisonnee Kemp 236)

Frost’s Orchard Tambourine C series consisted of 25 colour woodcuts in various colourways, an edition of 35. Each print was signed and dated by the artist on the reverse. Each print was also numbered 1 to 25 to indicate the order of the set.

This is print number 2, numbered 2C on the back of the box frame. Printed on Velin Arches paper to the edges by Hugh Stoneman, published by the Paragon Press.

According to labels on the frame, it was conservation framed in 2003 using ultra violet filtered acrylic and mounted with conservation materials.

Note: we acquired a number of these prints together and have opened two of the frames (see numbers 13 and 18) to check the edition number (21/35) and pencil signature was present on the back of the sheet.  The photo of the back of the sheet is from print 18 and we have not opened this one but are happy to do so to confirm to a buyer who wishes to purchase.  Note that after opening we will put the print back in the frame but it will need to be reattached inside the frame with fresh mounting tape by the buyer.

Measurements: 37 x 37 cm approx

Condition: Print is in great condition. It has been conservation framed in an acrylic box frame which has some contact surface scuffs occasionally. On close scrutiny of the print, there are a couple of tiny blue dots / ink spots or pigmentation from the printing process.
