Off the Black Hill
Gordon House (1932-2004)The late Gordon House made the earliest fine art screenprint ever to be produced in Britain, at Kelpra Studios, paving the way for a printmaking revolution in Great Britain that followed.
We now have just 2 of the folio of 6 screenprints from the Off the Black Hill Portfolio, 2000 remaining priced at £200 EACH. Printed in colours on 300 gsm Arches wove paper, each sheet signed, dated, titled and numbered 16/25 in pencil. Each sheet blindstamped lower right. Titles of the remaining works are as follows: Rostra, Studio.
Each sheet is loose as issued, presented with title page in original red fabric hard bound folder.
Measurements: 51.5 x 66 cm approx.
Condition: Great condition, never framed or displayed. Each sheet has been stored in the folio separated by tissue. One sheet has a couple of brown ink marks near the bottom edge. Some light surface marks to the red cover, minor. Cover also bears GH initials and edition number on the front.
