Noto is a city in southeastern Sicily, known for its baroque architecture, including the reconstructed 18th-century Noto Cathedral. The artist is well known for his skill in etching architectural landscapes and this is no exception.
Signed in pencil, titled Noto iii, denoted artists proof. Published in 1966 by editions Alecto. Collections: Government Art Collection.
Beer spent many holidays travelling through southern Europe where he sketched, drew and painted landscapes, architecture and street scenes as inspiration for his etchings and paintings which he would complete on his return to his Primrose hill home and studio.
