Patrick Procktor RA (1936-2003)

An early work from 1969, aquatint etching from the ‘Invitation to a Voyage’ portfolio.  An edition of just 75 copies, this one numbered 40/75 and signed in pencil. There are some pencil notes along the bottom edge and the title ‘Mirror’ is written in pencil verso.

This work relates to a visit to New York with Procktor’s then lover Gervase Griffiths, the designer Ossie Clark, and the actor Eric Emerson, and shows Procktor’s talent for use of colour and creation of interior space and light.

Measurements: 46 x 75 cm image size

Condition: Unframed, very clean condition, slight creasing to the bottom corner tips, a couple of small edge creases, and perhaps some light fading to the colours in the image.
