Lorca Sun

Sir Terry Frost RA (1915-2003)

A pencil signed proof etching from 1991.  Signed and denoted BAT (bon a tirer which means good to pull), aside from the edition of 25.

Photographed in its contemporary block wood frame.  The Lorca Suite was inspired by “Eleven Poems” by Spanish poet Federico Garcia Lorca (the Lorca Suite).

Note: BAT is the first perfect impression of a work and the one that will be used to judge all other impressions of the edition.  The BAT indicates the artist’s authority to proceed with the edition.  All further impressions are compared to the BAT copy for quality.

Measurements: plate size 55.5 x 37.5 cm

Condition: photographed in its contemporary wood frame behind glass, no mount, with the sheet mounted on its backing board, full margins present and visible. Overall appears in very good condition, on close view there is some very faint mottling to the margins, to the left and upper margin mostly, not noticeable at viewing distance.  In raking light can see a tiny hairline crease in the image, again not noticeable at viewing distance or in normal light.
