Kew Gardens (ink & watercolour)

Richard Beer (1928-2017)

A stunning large original watercolour and ink study of the Temperate Glasshouse at the world famous Kew Gardens in London, one of two studies for sale of this same subject.

This one is unsigned but dated Thurs July 25th (3 days after the other study listed).  It captures in amazing detail the architecture of the glass house quite beautifully, really showing the artists skill as a draughtsman.

It has come from a large collection of original sketches and drawings that the artist made whilst on his travels around Europe, often as preparatory studies for his etchings or paintings.  This is one of the few originals with an English landscape!  A copy of the auction receipt will be provided.

Drawn on high quality Arches paper, the work is in excellent condition,

Provenance:  from the estate of the late Richard Beer
