Kyu-Baik Hwang (b1932)

A limited edition mezzotint etching in colour by the Korean artist Hyu-Baik Hwang.

Titled Brush and Guitar signed and dated 86 in pencil and numbered from the edition of 100.

In his very distinctive style, Hwang takes everyday familiar objects and gives them a mystical, ethereal personality that sets them apart from their everyday connotations.  He uses a combination of processes, mezzotinting the central image areas only so that the background appears light.

Measurements: 28 x 18 cm approx plate size

Condition: Image in super condition, there are a couple of very faint marks to the margin, one is a faint red pencil line to the right hand margin, the other a small faint mark towards the top edge of the paper.  Both minor.  Will be rolled for shipping.
