Vic Reeves (b1959)
Vic Reeves (born James Roderick Moir) is a well known face of British television. Presenter and comedian, he trained as an artist at St John Cass art college in Whitechapel in the 1980s and alongside his TV work has continued to paint and exhibit over the years. He has gained quite a reputation as an artist with works chosen for the RA Summer Exhibition and in 2018 he won the Celebrity Portrait Artist of the Year. Reeves works in many media including painting, sculpture, photography and printmaking, and has a distinctive style. His subjects are typically portraits. His work has been described as Dada-esque, surreal and sometimes macabre – his art and comedy are different ways of expressing the same idea. He has a website which retails his prints and originals.
