Peter Sedgley (b1930)
A leading figure in the optical and kinetic art movements, who became prominent in the 1960s. Influenced by Bridget Riley, they together set up the SPACE studio scheme for young artists which still exists today. He had his first solo shows in London in 1965. He exhibited in the influential Responsive Eye exhibition at MOMA New York in 1964 and was a prizewinner at the Tokyo Biennale in 1965. He has many works in public collections including Tate, London, Victoria and Albert Museum, the Government Art Collection.
