Mark Hearld (b1974)
Studied at the Glasgow School of Art and the Royal College of Art. His fascination with animals is reflected in many of his works. His bold and energetic style is instantly recognisable and his prints and etchings are very popular. His influences are Edward Bawden, Eric Ravillious and John Piper. In 1998 the Tate invited Hearld, along with Paula Rego and Anthony Micallef, to take part in the 50th anniversary celebration of the Curwen Studios in Cambridgeshire.
