Mackenzie Thorpe (b1956)

Thorpe studied at the Byam Shaw College of Art in London, moving back to the North East of England in the late 1980s. He opened his own gallery and set up a studio producing his very distinctive naïve style of artworks. His works reflect either happy portrayals of children or animals or constrastingly darker images of life for the working class generation. His work is widely collected in the UK and USA.
