Julian Dyson (1936-2003)
A self-taught painter from St. Mawes, Cornwall, where he lived and worked all his life, he initially worked as a dentist, gradually making more time for painting and drawing as he became successful. His first one man show was in 1972 and he continued to exhibited regularly at most of the well known Cornish galleries, including a solo exhibition at Falmouth Art Gallery in 2001. His work can be found in the permanent collection there, and in many private collections worldwide. He was a member of the Newlyn Society of Artists, and was elected president of The Group of Twelve at its formation in 1996.
