Hilda May Gordon (1874-1972)
Hilda May Gordon studied under Frank Brangwyn and Sir Hubert von Herkomer at the Bushy School of Art and joined Brangwyn on a painting trip to Italy in 1900.
She went travelling in 1922 on a trip that lasted 6 years and took her around the world including India, Kashmir, Tibet, Burma, Thailand, Indonesia, China and Japan. On her travels she produced a large amount of watercolour paintings to capture the people and the exotic landscapes she had seen. She visited Southern Africa in the 1930s.
