Derek Boshier (b1937)
Noted pioneering pop artist who studied at the Royal College of Art, alongside R.B Kitaj, Allen Jones and David Hockney. It was within his ‘Image in Revolt’ exhibition at London’s Grabowski Gallery that Boshier launched his career, introducing icons of American consumer culture with the incorporation of big brand logos within his work. Work that he undertook for David Bowie and The Clash brought his work to the attention of a wider audience. His works can be found in major museum collections including Tate, The British Museum and the V&A. He lives and works in Los Angeles.
