Patrick Procktor RA (1936-2003)

Sarum, a large limited edition etching with aquatint by Patrick Procktor, depicting a north west view of Salisbury Cathedral.  Dates from 1974.

Signed lower right and numbered 21/150 in pencil. Bearing 3 blindstamps lower right margin, one of which is CCA galleries.

Procktor’s friend, the artist Cecil Beaton, lived in Wiltshire so this was an area he was familiar with. It is a composition of beautiful tones and light and shade with a moody sky.

Measurements: 39 x 57 cm image size. unframed with full margins. Sheet 78 x 56 cm approx.

Condition: Image in great condition.  A small 1cm tear to upper edge and some light time toning running along the very top edge of the sheet.
